In true MCP style, we had a stocking full of Christmas spirit in December which resulted in plenty of fun and fundraising for good causes. Here are a few of the activities enjoyed by the whole team.

MCP’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal helps make life a little brighter for the children of Ukraine

Few of us can even begin to imagine the suffering being felt by families in Ukraine over the last year so when we saw an appeal from our local Hertfood Community Group, our team didn’t hesitate to help.

We held a Christmas Shoebox Appeal for staff to donate wrapped shoeboxes full of essential items and treats for children in Ukraine. The shoebox Christmas gifts included socks, gloves, chocolate and small toys.  These boxes were then loaded into their 24-ton van and delivered to the Ukraine.

Our generous staff donated a total of 16 boxes.

The organisers at Hertfood Community Group said,

“Goods are needed more than ever. Last night Kharkiv was battered, they have no water, power or wifi and with only 7 hours of daylight life is grim! Kyiv, effectively our London, is running at 30% of critical infrastructure, it’s also very cold! So pleased that HAF GB is sending 24 tons of love support and hugs. Thank you to all involved in this massive team effort, quite something!”

Thank you so much to the whole MCP team for making such an effort to donate, wrap and deliver these small gifts that will bring a smile to some children’s faces at such a bleak time.

MCP celebrates the best (and worst) on Christmas Jumper Day!

On Friday 9th December, MCP participated in Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day.   The day was great fun and prizes were given to The Best, The Worst, The Funniest and The Most Creative.  By donating just £2 each, our team raised £78.00 for Save the Children. This charity supports children all over the world, carrying out vital work to ensure they are safe, healthy and are getting a good education.

Thank you to everyone who took part and donated, your humour and willingness to help really make a difference.

Young artists design MCP Christmas cards

As a family business, MCP holds a host of family-oriented events throughout the year that bring staff and their children together.

We decided to hold a Christmas card competition for all children related to MCP staff. The best three designs were used on MCP’s corporate Christmas cards.

We chose MCP’s Chairman Mick Clarke, his wife Ann and our MD Mark Gelder to judge each entry and choose their favourite design.  They had a tough decision as all entries were brilliant, but congratulations went to the following winners:

Michael – age 7
Tate – age 10
Alana – age 13

We would like to thank all the children who took part and they should all be very proud of their designs!

MCP children enjoy an all-day Christmas party

At MCP, family most definitely comes first! As a special treat for the children of MCP staff, we held a Christmas Party on 22nd December at our Head Office in Hertford.

The day was packed full of activities with arts and crafts, gingerbread biscuit decorating, party games and delicious party food.  Santa also paid an early visit to hand out candy cones to the children!

This was also an ideal opportunity to present the winners of our Christmas card competition with their prizes and each entrant got a selection box.

All staff and their children had an enjoyable day, which was a great start to the Christmas break.

Thank you to everyone involved who helped to organise the event and to those who helped to clean up afterwards!
