Mark Gelder Managing Director
I started my career as an apprentice electrician working on military bases across the UK. This enabled me to develop a broad range of skills from high voltage networks through housing maintenance within the industry.
Following my apprenticeship, I was promoted to a supervisor and from then steadily progressed to senior roles within the construction and maintenance industry. For the last 14 years I worked within the social housing sector as National Director of Operations for a housing maintenance provider, prior to joining MCP in November 2021.
As Managing Director, my role is to lead the Senior Management Team and the organisation to deliver our core strategic goals and oversee the compliance, finance and wellbeing throughout the company. I enjoy developing and helping people reach their full potential and have actively mentored apprentices and management trainees over the years on their chosen career path.
Outside of MCP I enjoy road cycling, golf and, when I am allowed, cooking. I also enjoy watching football (I keep an eye out for Doncaster Rovers) and rugby.
Leon Ettienne Operations Manager
I have been with MCP for just over 17 years, starting my career as an Apprentice Electrician. Since then, I have held successful roles as Supervisor and Contracts Manager and was promoted to Regional Manager in 2020.
Following a company restructure in 2021, in my new role as Operations Manager, I have responsibility for the performance, operational and commercial aspect of all MCP’s contracts, leading and supporting my teams to deliver our strategic objectives.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I am a key influencer in implementing the company’s values and have been integral in developing and driving forward MCP’s Seven Year Strategy.
In my spare time I like to spend as much time as possible with my wife and two children. We enjoy going on little day trips and taking the dog for walks in the woods. My other passion is football and I’m a season ticket holder at Arsenal, where I enjoy getting together with my friends to watch the game.
Anna West Director of Talent & Relationships
I joined MCP as our People Manager in 2017, with over 6 years’ experience of working with Housing Associations and nearly 30 years’ experience within HR, Learning & Development. I am passionate about developing people at all levels in line with their personal aspirations and strengths, aligned with the strategic direction of our company.
In addition to management of the HR function at MCP, in my role as Director of Talent & Relationships I also lead the New Business team in securing pipeline opportunities and maintaining our Client relationships.
As MCP’s Social Value Ambassador, I work closely with our existing Clients to ensure that our social value commitments are being delivered on our contracts; this includes working with local schools, colleges and local voluntary groups and charitable partners to create employment and training opportunities.

In my spare time I love gardening, baking and getting away in my camper van that I have renovated!
Manoj Jain Finance Controller
I started my career in India 21 years ago, as a Junior Assistant Accountant, working for a number of international organisations including JIL Ltd and the Foreign Exchange UAE.
In 2004 I came to the UK and worked for a small accountancy firm, before joining a marketing company, supporting HR and the Head of IT. During my 14 year spell within the organisation, I progressed from Accountant, to Management Accountant and then Financial Controller.
In line with the organisation’s growth plan, I supported the company in opening a new division in the USA, liaising with accountants, solicitors and legal advisors. We had a centralised Finance team in UK and I went on annual trips to New York to integrate the UK business culture and values with my USA colleagues. This experience is a key element in helping me implement MCP’s company values within my team and colleagues, as part of my contribution to the Senior Leadership Team.
I joined MCP in 2022 as Financial Controller and I am responsible for overseeing the finance team and to manage external relationships, driving projects and proactively putting foundations in place for the business as it continues to grow.
Outside of MCP I like spending time with my wife and two children and enjoy yoga & meditation.
I am a trustee of two charitable organisations, Stepping Stones (Luton) and Jain Association of UK.
Alpesh Hirani Commercial Manager
I started working on construction sites in early 2001, learning a trade as a Painter & Decorator and my secondary trade as a Carpenter. Following a 4-year stint working on sites, I branched out and formed my own refurbishment company which traded for 3 years. During this time, I felt that I needed to expand my business experience and decided to join a main contractor, working within the social housing sector.
Since 2007, my journey had taken me from being a Voids Supervisor and a Voids Manager. In 2012 I transitioned into the commercial world as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. From then, I progressed within my Quantity Surveyor role to Managing Quantity Surveyor. Throughout my development, I have also mentored and developed my immediate team members as well as management trainees who have gone on to forge their own successful careers within the commercial sector.
Joining MCP in March 2022 as a Commercial Manager, my role is to mentor and develop my commercial team, pushing them to reach their full potential with all my support, experience, and guidance, whilst keeping the company’s best interest at heart. My role is to ensure maximisation of our revenues, whilst forming and maintaining healthy working relationships with not only our MCP team, but our customers and clients alike.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching football and cricket, I play football once a week, golf when it is sunny, eating and having siesta!
