MCP enjoys a long-standing working relationship with Sovereign Network Group (SNG – a merger between Sovereign and Network Homes).

We are proud to offer ongoing social value support to SNG. Our team enjoys this ‘hands-on’ way of supporting communities. So far, three projects have been delivered during 2024:

Community defibrillator installation, Hertford
Donated by the British Heart Foundation, a defibrillator was installed at The Dell, Hertford by our Electrical Supervisor, Roy Newman, in February 2024. It’s vital that this life-saving equipment is installed by someone with the appropriate electrical qualifications and expertise. Roy was happy to help and MCP was delighted to donate his time and professional skills to the local community. The defibrillator was officially opened on 16th February 2024.

A great day out at a residents’ event, Alperton
SNG organised a special residents’ event to relaunch the allotment space at 243 Ealing Road, Alperton. MCP was pleased to support this event on 6th April 2024 with an awareness stand. Our team was on hand throughout the day, offering water bottles, mixed herb seed sticks, stress balls and pens. We had a great day and enjoyed meeting the residents. By being part of the event, residents could ask us about their property maintenance. We’re pleased to confirm that no issues were raised regarding our areas of responsibility. The residents’ event was also supported by REAP London. This organisation helps to create sustainable garden spaces of any size, whether you have an allotment or a small balcony.

Sheltered housing lounge refurbishment, Ware
The lounge at The Grange sheltered housing scheme in Ware needed attention to make the space more welcoming for residents … a perfect job for the MCP team!

Refurbishing the lounge area was a complex project involving:
  • Moving furniture and covering carpets.
  • Removing radiators to allow professional decoration.
  • Replastering, including mist coating to prepare for painting.
  • Painting and stain blocking all walls and ceilings.
  • Returning radiators to walls and moving furniture back into the room.

Our team loved being involved with this project, completing the work professionally and thoroughly. MCP donated all the time and materials involved. The result was a refurbished area ready for residents and visitors to relax in and enjoy.  Scheme Manager at The Grange, Mandy Gower, was delighted with the work ''The tenants now like coming to use the lounge because the walls are bright, clean and the lounge is welcoming.''

Delivering social value support is very important to MCP, as is our long-standing relationship with SNG (we’ve been working together for over 45 years).

We look forward to planning more social value projects in the future.
