It’s Good to Talk!
It’s easy to underestimate the benefit of a good conversation and a positive presence at industry conferences. Our participation enables us to keep up to date with current events, legislation and opinions and meet new contacts. MCP team members have been out and about, gaining and sharing knowledge at recent housing industry events.
Here’s a snapshot of the events we’ve attended recently and why they helped us support our clients.
Asset Management Improvement Partnership (AMIP) - 17th September 2024
Echelon Improvement Partnership’s event was held in a unique venue: Thorpe Park, Chertsey. Yes, delegates could enjoy the rides during lunchtime! The meeting focused on ‘resourcing the social housing sector’. Our team collaborated with other delegates to discuss the importance of resourcing and how young talent can be attracted to the sector.
MCP’s Director of Talent and Relationships, Anna West, was invited to speak at the event. She provided guidance on employing Generation Z and retaining staff. Her presentation received such hugely positive feedback that she was invited to be a key speaker at the Echelon Conference in October (see below). Congratulations on an amazing job, Anna!
Echelon Conference 2024 - 10th October 2024
Following her successful presentation at AMIP, Anna was invited to take part as a key speaker at the Emirates Stadium event. This privilege enabled her to share her knowledge about the competence and conduct standard through her ‘Licence to Skill’ slides.
In addition, MCP’s Business Development Manager, Rosie, enjoyed participating in an ‘Ask the Expert’ panel. Audience questions included how to encourage women to work in the housing sector and what the new government's impact on the sector could be. Rosie used the opportunity to emphasise the continued importance of supporting the communities we work with through our social value activities.
This annual conference focused on driving innovation through collaboration and welcomed over 300 housing professionals.
South East Consortium (SEC) Conference – 16th October 2024
South East Consortium’s ‘A Call for Action’ event was held at Olympic Park, Stratford and concentrated on the need to deliver truly brilliant homes for the communities we serve.
Rosie attended a variety of thought-provoking and informative presentations covering topics including:
· Applying the right mindset to enact change.
· Following the procurement yellow brick road.
· Getting repairs right.
We’re excited about using these insights to provide additional value to the service we offer our clients.

Homes UK - 27th November, 2024
An important event for everyone involved in housing and asset management, development and sustainability, Homes UK is held at Excel in London hosting over 4,500 housing professionals including a team from MCP!
Homes UK promises to offer expert analysis and guidance on the new government’s housing targets and will highlight how we can achieve net zero emissions while delivering warm and energy-efficient homes.
Looking forward to meeting up with industry colleagues, the MCP team is keen to highlight … it’s good to talk.
