We are excited to have now started our five-year repairs and maintenance services contract for Runnymede Borough Council. While our operatives have been busy carrying out repairs and refurbishing void properties, our new business team have been out and about meeting groups of local residents and housing scheme managers.

Making life easier for residents

As the new face of Runnymede’s repairs and maintenance service, the first thing we want to do is help them get to know MCP; our heritage, values, people, services, and social value plans.

We know from experience that the best way to introduce ourselves and build trust is to meet people face-to-face. This way we can ensure we answer their individual questions, and help to resolve any outstanding problems.

Meet the Contractor events

The main purpose of our Meet the Contractor events is to show residents the various ways they can report a problem and easily book a repair to their home.

To help them to understand their options, we show them our warm and welcoming ‘Resident’s Journey’ video which gives an overview of MCP and the repair process.  This includes how they can book a repair, who will attend to complete the repair and how we resolve any issues.

This is followed by a Q&A session and then, the part we like best, an opportunity to meet each resident on a one-to-one basis.  Residents get the opportunity to tell us about any current issues that they have in their home which we may be able to help with immediately or we can report them to our repairs team on their behalf.

At the end of each event, residents are provided with a selection of useful MCP-branded products and repairs information.

These events are not only rewarding for our team but they also help to build a good rapport and a sense of familiarity and security for residents.
