Taking Team Building to Another Level

Teamwork and wellness are an integral part of MCP’s culture. During September, colleagues took team building to another level, taking part in physically and mentally challenging events. We’re proud of their success, bonding our team and demonstrating what determination and working together can achieve.

Overcoming Obstacles

Do you ever go running? How about a 10k run through woodland, water and thick mud? On 14th September 2024, 12 fearless MCP colleagues took on the challenge of the Wolf Run in Leamington Spa. However, the Wolf Run is more than a run, it’s a real adventure!

The distance across off-road terrain is hard enough, but there’s more! Our brave team faced tough obstacles along the course, including a water slide, an 18-foot cargo net and a bridge jump into muddy water. With aching muscles and adrenalin flowing, they also faced intimidating climbing challenges, ominously named Devil Steps and Sheer Face. Wow!

Everyone completed the course and MCP is proud of our team’s determination and support for each other. It’s inspiring to see team building and persistence at such an impressive level. The MCP team included:

·         Anna – Director Talent & Relationships
·         Dean – Multi Trades Operative
·         Emma – Operations Manager
·         Gary – Plumber
·         Gemma – Planner
·         Jack A – Carpenter Multi
·         Jack H – Plumber
·         Kennedy – Carpenter Multi
·         Leanne – Contracts Supervisor
·         Matt – CEO
·         Simon – Site Supervisor
·         Tom – Multi Trades Operative

Thank you for reminding us how determined and resilient we can be.

‘Well done for organising the Wolf Run. I think I speak for everyone when I say it was a wicked experience!’ This was Dean’s feedback to Leanne after the event, echoed by the rest of the team.

A trilogy of Wolf Runs takes place each year. After September’s success we hope even more of our colleagues are inspired to try the next event. Some of our brave souls are keen to complete all three Wolf Runs!

Working Together

Just two weeks after the Wolf Run, MCP colleagues Leanne and Tom travelled to Brentwood to take on their next fitness challenge. Nuclear Fit involves six 1km trails with unique functional fitness stations between each run. These extra challenges included tyre flips, a sledge pull and a milk churn carry. It’s an extremely high-energy, exciting outdoor fitness race. Those who complete it definitely deserve to wear the survivor tops!

Leanne and Tom worked together completing the course in an impressive 56 minutes. They needed mental agility as well as physical fitness and great teamwork. Congratulations to both of them!
